Truckin'

This past week Jason was able to take us with him to California. I had asked him a couple of weeks back if there was any way he would be able to take us especialy since both kids had spring break? I realy wasn't going to hold my breath but after he looked at the route he surprised me and told me to get everything packed up Monday night. We then left Tuesday late afternoon. I love being spontanious. So I packed alot of movies and coloring books and we headed for our road trip.
After begging for a while we stopped for a couple of hours between stops at the beach. At first we weren't having very much luck finding a spot for the truck until I happened to see a national park type area that had motor homes and you could camp and do day picnics there. It was perfect. We ended up staying for three hours. We didn't have any shovels so we used some cups that we had so we could attempt to make a sand castle but the sand wasn't very good but we had fun running and playing in the water and sand.

We had a really good time and the kids were really good considering we had to spend most of the time in the truck. The sleeper was really comfortable and it was nice to be able to go back and take a nap. I love spending time with my husband and my kids and I am thankful we were able to go. I will always look back and wish we had more times like this one.

Easter Weekend

Jason and I are never here for Easter. We are usualy with friends down in Moab. We leave the kids behind at my Moms. So this year I wanted to go all out and decorate eggs and bake cookies. We had such a good time. I made bunny ears for the kids. I did have to borrow powdered sugar from Aspen and a cookie cutter and food coloring from Jamey and my Sister brought me sprinkles to make the cookies happen. We did share with them later. They turned out so yummy. I was told that it will be the real Easter Bunny that will hide the eggs and not some guy in a bunny costume. Jason still can't get over it. I think we did change his mind when he saw his Easter basket and the eggs when we got home from church. However he also thought that the Easter bunny left a mess. ( who has time to clean the house before leaving for church? )
Daddy's egg for Little Jason
Maddies' egg

Mommy's egg

Little Jason's egg, with Daddy's help.

Jason and Maddie in their new Easter clothes.

See what Jason is doing!!?? He won't stop!!

We found all the eggs and are eating the candy.

Mommy was too cheap to by Tyler a new outfit for church so Tyler got stuck wearing a onsie that was Jason's when Jason was a little baby.
It was a great weekend. I love Family Fun time and we had lots this weekend.

Daddy's home

I'm so glad when Daddy comes home, glad as I can be. Clap my hands and shout for joy and climb upon his knee. Put my arms around his neck hug him tight like this. Pat his cheek and give him what? A GREAT BIG KISS!
Another long week without Daddy. The kids were so excited to see their Daddy. He couldn't keep them off of him. They kept telling him that they weren't done with their hugs and kisses yet. Lately he is gone 4-5 days out of the week. I was joking with him earlier that it seems he is only home long enough for me to do his laundry and then he is back on the road again. It does help that we send pictures and talk on the phone. Maddie has his phone number down that's for sure. I can't wait until we can get another driver for work so he can be home more. We love our Daddy and appreciate all of his hard work. His family is his priority.

This week is over.

So earlier this week I had touched on how I have struggled since the first of the year and was now hoping to have a better out look on things. I wanted to go on about how my week ended. So Wednesday Tyler slept for most of the day while I was at work, that hardly ever happens. He is the type of kid who sleeps for 20 minutes and is awake and needs attention. He is our little power napper. I weighed in and didn't gain any weight..I was worried because I ate and ate the whole week before because of the increased stress.
Thursday I was able to attend the sealing of my cousin. It was at 1:00 and that left me feeling the spirit the rest of the day and later on in the evening we went to the reception. It was great, got to visit and the food was wonderful.
Friday was pay day...yeah!! I went to the car wash and the guy in front of me left me with 3 and a 1/2 minutes left so I only had to use two tokens and the third I used for vacuuming. Then we went to the mall to get Jason his new suit for Easter. The kids behaved really well. Then Daddy came home. I know that it doesn't sound that event full like winning the lottery but it was better then I have had in a long time.

No Buddy Like A Brother

Jason wanted me to take a picture of all the brother's together. He has a special bond with each of them. They did fight a lot growing up but who didn't fight with their siblings. They are a force to be reckoned with, and believe me they are twice as obnoxious when they are together. They will do anything for eachother, especialy give one another's wive's a hard time!!
(Justin is single but willing to join in on the wife bashing )

Cousins

These kids are pals. They realy love each other. For the most part they all get along with one another realy good, unless we need naps. It's so nice that we are close that we can do play dates often. I can't wait for the little ones to grow up some more so they can play too.

Family Home Evening

On St. Patty's day the South Family all gathered over at Jared and Aspen's house for Family Home Evening. The topic was on food storage. Our family is trying realy hard to get prepared for the up coming emergencies. Jared and Aspen' s food storage room is such a great example of how I would like my basement to look. I do feel that we have quite an army gathered here in West Jordan. We all are out here and there was a reason for that.
Jennifer grinding away.
Jared looks discusted with the taste of one of the MRE's!!?? Maybe the Clam Chowder?
Larkyn looking happy kneeding the dough for the tortilla's.
We took turns grinding (worked on my releif society arms ) some 10 year old wheat that Jeremy brought over. He made tortilla's and chocolate chip cookies with it. We also tried several MRE's. I think that I am going to starve. I had a hard time stomaching the taste and the smell of some of them. Good thing Aspen made some chicken taco stuff that I could eat on the tortilla's that Jeremy made.
So many to chose from.

The tortilla's cooking.
Did some one order Ham?
Jennifer, who just returned from her mission in October ended the evening with a wonderfull thought and scripture. It was realy nice to have all of us get together. I am supposed to host the next get together and I don't know how I am going to top this night.

Disney on Ice

So this past weekend we did a Mommy, Daughter date to disney on ice. I have to admit I think I was more excited about going then the girls were. I have never been to one of these events before. I can also be quite a princess myself. Madison and Paiton had no idea where we were going. I enjoyed seeing their faces when we arrived and they saw all the princess stuff every where. The girls were a little bummed that they didn't wear their princess dresses like so many others did..Oh and do I wish I were brave to wear one too like other mother's I did see.

One of my favorite parts of the show was when Prince Phillip was fighting the dragon. The dragon came out in the dark with flourescent colors and this is why you see fire on the ice, which Madison and I argued a little if it was real or not. The other part was when Ursala came out and all the litle girls screamed. Oh how I laughed. The girls also couldn't beleive that fire works could happen in doors. I did explain that just because we saw it happen here that we weren't going to set some off inside our house. The whole production was quite dramatic.

This was also another high light of the show. These guys were on ice skates performing stunts. They would jump off of that platform and bounce the other guy waiting and he flipped over in the air and the guys on the skates caught him with the chair. Lots of oohs and aahs!

I realy enjoyed myself and I am glad that we decided to go..at the last minute. I did break the bank but it was worth it. I did leave a very upset 3 year old at home and then came home to a very upset 3 month old. Oh how my boys missed their Mommy :)
