Halloween 2011

With help from my mom and one of my Bestie's Andrea we put together a Rapunzel dress for Madison. I am actually quiet proud of it. Of course I made it big enough to last a couple of years and the girl was sleeping in it. She did tell me that she would way rather have a home made costume over a store bought one any day. Made me feel real good.

We did our traditional thing, had some friends over, did pizza and then went on a mad hunt thru the neighborhood for the goodies. It was great weather and we scored some good candy!! We love Halloween!

Who goes to California with out going to the beach?? Well we don't! When we arrived in Cali it was raining so we weren't able to go but we made sure before we left to get there. I bought the kids their own Little buckets and shovels from the dollar store, yay for the dollar store and we spent a couple of hours making castles and looking for sea shells.
Then the kids became quiet adventurous and took off towards the water, once the waves came up there was no holding back on getting all the way in. I had to make sure Jason stayed close. I am not fond of the water so Jason would have to be the rescuer. They had a great time.This is them running up to jump on me to get me all wet. I knew it was coming. Little stinker's! I guess I should say big stinkers, yuck the ocean smells!!

It was a great finish to our trip. I seriously can't wait until we can go again!! Some day...right??

I sat and peeked out the window waiting for the bus to arrive with the kids after school. Ran to the garage and waited in the dark. Kids open up garage door to find their Nana, Mom, Dad and brother sitting in the dark with new luggage. Weird look on kids face, especially since Mom is holding a video camera recording what is about to be said. Daddy says "well since it's my birthday today I am thinking that I want to go some where." Kids still have a puzzled look on their face and finally say, "where do you want to go?" Daddy says " I want to go to Disneyland ". Kids freak out!! We throw the luggage in and drive off!

It was nice having the six of us, better for the rides any way. Tyler could pretty much go on everything, I did stuff his shoes with foam so there would be no question about his height. We were harassed one time but that's because the guy was a dirt bag and I wasn't in line with the kids.

The kids were so good and I loved every minute of it. Yes we were tired but just the excitement and soaking everything in was just the best for me. I needed this trip so bad and it was mostly for me. We haven't been any where since Tyler was 8 months old and this time he was the perfect age and he made it so much more fun. In fact he still won't stop talking about it.

I wish I would of let him go on the tower of terror, he will not shut up about it mostly because he sits and watches the behind the scenes Disney park on Netflix so he can yell out all the rides he went on and what his favorites were but he just won't give up on the tower of terror and how every one screams like a little girl. He even approaches people at the store or restaurants. I just keep laughing at him.

I sure do love my family. I am so glad that we could get a way. It was last minute which is sometimes more exciting. I can never really plan ahead any way between work and Jason's fighting/training I never know what we will be able to do.

The weather was perfect and it wasn't very crowded, I think the longest we waited in line was 45 minutes but other then that we didn't wait too long. I packed snacks this time and we packed a light jacket for the evening. The kids wouldn't stop thanking their Dad and I for taking them. They each got to pick a souvenir and I know that they appreciated it. They know that I worked hard and needed them to be good. Jason told them it was the best birthday ever!!

I love to watch the parades especially with the kids. They scream and shout and wave at the characters and say..mom..mom look there's..., etc. I am already counting down the next time we can go. I guess I should start saving too, hopefully it won't be three years before we can go again!

I didn't take hardly any pictures this year at the fair. I am sure you can hit older posts to look at all of the previous pictures I have taken, they are all the same. I know lazy ( maybe when I finally break down and get a new camera? ) but we were just having way too much fun. Besides if all of you go to the fair every year like we do you know what your gonna see. Our favorite part of the fair this year was watching the sea lions. They were amazing and I would of recommended having you watch the show. It was great!

We did do our traditional fair food...funnel cake and kettle corn and yes we spent the ten dollars to go down the big yellow slide. Heck, when it's once a year I am gong to shovel out the money because, yes it is worth it to me!! I love the fair!!

Tami is 30

Tami had to work on her Birthday. Bummer!! But we made sure that we had a surprise for her when she got home. We planned dinner for her and decorated her kitchen and got cake ad ice cream. We all hid behind the counter and when she came in the kids yelled surprise. She was beaming. She had no idea and again I got away with it!!

After dinner we headed to the State Fair!! She declined wearing the sash and the head band though. Lame!

imagine a team full of boys and one girl running around like a dog or catch chasing a flash light on the floor and it being all over the place. Are you in visioning it? The kids not knowing what direction or who your supposed to pass it too or in fact what goal you should kick the ball in to!! My kid did score for the other team on one of the games. It was so fun getting know the other parents and having Bubba make new friends. It was also nice that the other parents yelled and carried on with encouragement like I did. I had one lady tell another ( not from our team , but a team we had played before ) that she is not going to want to sit by us because we are too loud. I swear we were the only group of parents cheering for our kids. We laughed and made jokes it was a great time! We only won one game out of all that they played but that's okay it was such good entertainment! Bubba made a great goalie, he was not intimidated at all when the ball came towards him. He went right out an stopped it. He even took a cleat to the face and he still was aggressive. He stopped a lot of balls going in, made it so we didn't get slaughtered as much. Hopefully we can do it again this year.

Wow, how the time flies...one minute they are in my belly and then next they think they know everything!!

Bubba is 7 years old and enjoys playing soccer, bey blades, shooting guns, riding his bike, playing with friends. When he grows up he wants to be just like his dad. He is such a tender little fellow. He has a temper and will cry over just about anything!! He always wants to be held and kissed at the wrong possible moment, when I am at my busiest but I know that's it's just a little reminder to take a moment, pause and take in the lovin'. I am not sure how long he will keep this up?

Madison is 10 years old and enjoys dance, coloring, crafts, fashion, dolls, more dolls and dolls. When she grows up she wants to be a dancer and an artist, she gets her artistic ability from her Dad. This girl and I are so similar, except for the ability to keeping her room clean. She is the biggest slob ever!! She is like me in a sense that for one I was a Daddy's girl and never cared what my Mom had to say and second, she likes to be a tom boy and a princess!! She could care less if I was mad at her but if her dad is the least bit disappointed then she falls apart.

I am so proud of these two. They are smart, friendly, make good choices. They are good kids. Pretty well behaved and when they are not burping or farting they have good manners too!!

A 60th birthday party

A few of us met up for dinner at Golden Corral ( yum ) and hid out in the back room to surprise my Mother in Law for her 60th birthday. I love it when I can get away with things. She had no idea :) We sure do love this lady. She is one of the most sweetest and thoughtful person's I know. She has such a love for the gospel and her family. She keeps very busy being self employed, holding a church calling and taking care of her father and Husband, because they both have health issues. She is always cheerful and willing to help others in the drop of a hat. I hope that she knows how much we love her. Happy Birthday Joyce.

Two of my favorite things... food and family. I am glad that Joyce had a birthday so we could get together. My dad always said age is earned. Here's too many more birthdays, for all of us!!

Trial Lake/Anniversary Weekend

So right after Justin's wedding we headed straight to Trail Lake up in the Uinta's, Jason and I along with the kids arrived around 11 that night. Jason and his brothers went up the day before to set up tents in a spot to insure us a good spot since I knew that it was walk up only. We invited a few friends to join us for the weekend and we had a good old time getting dirty and sun kissed. I took the kids on a little walk while we were waiting for every one else to arrive and we started playing in the water. I just knew some one was bound to go in all the way without the intent too. Guess who did?Bubba cried and cried and I laughed and laughed. I couldn't help myself. I wish I would of had it on video. He had made it down the log without a problem but on his last step he lost his balance and went right in. I am still chuckling, especially since it was just so devastating.Jason didn't feel too well the whole trip. He spent a lot of time in the tent trying to sleep. It sucked. I packed a bunch of really great food and goodies, we had planned on hiking and even took a long a canoe for the lake, Luckily there were other dads there to fill in on the Lake adventures. I was okay relaxing but being even more outdoorsy would of been funner.

The kids had so much fun playing in the dirt and gathering wood for the fire. By the time we would get dinner done they were pooped, except for the girls of course. They would of stayed up all night giggling if we let them. Silly girls.

Jake with his "I am going to break this tree" attitude, It was so funny watching him, it was kicking his butt too and it didn't help that the axe we had was dull.

Despite a few feuds and some I don't feel too goods, we had an excellent time. I love getting friends together. Jason and I just passed our 11th year of marriage and what better way of celebrating then with some of our friends, no cell service and in nature!!

A South Wedding

It was a beautiful wedding, They held their ceremony at the red butte gardens. The back drop was amazing, her dress was amazing and the special vows were amazing. We are all so happy for Justin and Michelle. We hope that they have a long and happy marriage. I love having family around and adding more family to it. Congrats!

Jason's opponent Jerome Hatch, He is a nice family man. His wife is super nice. They have great sportsmanship just like I like. I hate when people boo and our fans and his fans never do.

I don't have too many pictures off of my camera, I mostly video taped it but man was I sick. I even threw up in my mouth. I don't see how I can watch all of this but at the same time it's such a thrill. Jerome put a hurtin' on Jason and there were a few times I thought that it was over for Jason, He sure took a beating but in the end won with a choke to Jerome.

It only gets more competitive from here. This was a very important fight for Jason and Jerome was a good guy to beat, This is good for Jason's record. I am so proud of him!!

Once again thanks for all the support from our family and friends it really means a lot to us. We are already counting down the dates to the next one!!

Bubba's 7th birthday

All bubba wanted for is birthday was these STUPID things called Bey Blades, that's what he got..He was one happy boy. He received a total of 7, the same as his age. We enjoyed spanking him and the cake that my friend Brooke made. We have some great friends. Here's to many more years that I hope to have this kids around. I love him.

Caves

End of school project. The kids studied caves in the first grade. I think we might have been the only one that did an ice cave and thanks to my friend Roy for sculpting some crystals out of Styrofoam our ice cave was a huge success, even Superman was there.
My Bubba sure was proud and he received lots of comments and was awarded the most original.

The Russian foxtrot-class submarine- code name " the Scorpion " was so neat to go in to. Jason and I only walked on the top floor and it was 3 stories. I can't imagine a crew of even 50 men on there all crammed in to a small space...and under all that Ocean.
I know that my butt wouldn't fit on this thing!! It was combined with the shower.The cots, some where stacked three on top of each other. Very tight quarters, I could barely get in and out of them. Jason's legs hung off. I wonder what the height and weight requirements was? It's fine, I wouldn't want to go any way!!No I didn't fall, I was trying to lay back so I can appear thinner :) It didn't work. My camera sucks!The kitchen was smaller then a standard closet and your neck would kill I am sure because you would have to huntched over.The ladders to go up and down, we weren't allowed :(The captain's room, again, smaller then a closet. Still blocked off from going down the ladder, no..I wouldn't be able to fit down the ladder.FIRE the torpedo's!!

I had a splendid time just the two of us getting away, it doesn't happen too often. I also don't get to experience the touristy things that often either. I will cherish our time always!!

birthday weekend get away part I

Jason and I took off for a quick little get away to California ( actually my birthday fell on the same weekend as a tournament, go figure...I kind of invited myself right along. Can we say guilt trip?? ) Besides the tournament we visited the beach, cold stone ice cream..my favorite and the The Queen Mary,which I had never heard of until I was google-ing things to do in California. Sp we purchased tour tickets. It was really neat. We were able to wonder and we also took a tour and a ghost tour. Super fun and super touristy too!
A huge, I mean huge gear down in the engine room.

This is one of two pools that were on board the ship, it also took part in the ghost tour, they made the lighting look as if there was water that appeared. cool and creepy. What was interesting as well is that the first class passengers had access to the pool but the 2nd and 3rd class passengers could only swim in it for an hour each day and after that, they would drain the water because I guess there is no way that the first class passengers were going to swim in the same water.
This was our tour guide, I cant remember his name, he was friendly and knew everything. He was great but we had to laugh when we went to sign up for our ghost tour I had them make sure we could get there in time because the tours were so close together so those gentlemen called down to see who our guide would be and they chuckled and put us down for a later time so we wouldn't miss it. They knew that we would be longer.Beautiful tile work in the ball room.The huge chain to lower the anchorThis was a neat and creepy hall way, it went from front to back and was built to sway with the waves. The hall seemed to go on forever!

This was the area at the front of the ship which of course reminded me of Titanic. On the back of the ship they had platforms that you could get married on. There were several people there getting ready for a wedding or discussing weddings.This picture doesn't do it justice but it was to show passengers the route for the days. It was the fastest ship to travel from New York to England and back. Amazing, especially back then.A cute little replica
The inside lay out, this was stretched along a long wall. I wish I would have stood next to the anchor, it was HUGE!Part of the little deck next to the restaurant we ate at.This is more decorative wall, then the stair case down both sides that went from top to bottom. Had I known that you could actually reserve a room on board and stay I so would of for one night. I am afraid that this may be my only ship experience!More engine parts.This was a fighter gun. For some time they turned the ship in to a dilatory ship and hosted several officers as well as passengers. It had carried 800,000 troops over a period of time and traveled over 600,000 miles. Some in fact slept in the bottom of the pool.

There was so much history. I enjoyed it. Once we finished our tours we paid for lunch and enjoyed the view of the ocean while eating.

Bubba was awarded the Soaring Eagle award along with several other kids. He though he was so super cool. The medal has his name on it. He is so proud just like his Daddy to have it hanging on his wall in his room just like his Dad has all of his medals hanging in his room. He still hasn't stopped grinning.

My Mom, Ty and I went and had lunch with Madison for her Principal's Pride. She was awarded the certificate for Outstanding student and for receiving her cursive license. She is one smart cookie :) She makes me so proud.

A taste of Zion

So...ah..ya, Went away with some friends a couple of weekends back and these are the only four pictures that were taken. I am hoping that my friends have some good ones??

We went to Zion's National Park, My first time and besides not feeling well. I had a great time and it was beautiful and was perfect weather!!!
We went on a hike up to a waterfall, had lunch, desert, shopping. The weekend was fun!

Maybe I will post more pics after I steal them!!!

I am so in love....

I was spoiled as usual for Mothers' day. Breakfast in bed, a new counter top mixer, funny cards from the kids, hand crafted cards from school, ROSES!! I am so loved and so blessed. I often feel undeserving of these bountiful blessings of mine but I am truly grateful for them and try not to take them for granted. I love how the kids get so giddy when they come get me. They almost can't control themselves, that of course is the best part.

I am so happy to call them mine and for them to call me Mommy, no greater blessing then that. I am thankful to the Lord for entrusting me with their lives and I hope that I never let them down because after all they did choose me.

I hope every one had a great Mother's day...or an every day IS Mother's day!!

BrOOke's Birthday!

It's always good to get together with girlfriends and EAT!! We usually spend the evening at applebees chatting and giving each other a hard time, well I should say they give me a hard time. But hey I don't mind them laughing at my expense!!
This time it was for one of my really good friends Brooke. We try and get together around each other's birthdays. I love going out with these gals!! Can't wait til' we can go again!!

Easter Sunday

Ugh!! Family pics!! We can't get a single good one, I was just hoping for one good one for Easter. I am all squinty, Tyler never cooperates or when he does some one looks away ( I wonder who looks away...after telling the other two kids not to look away!! ), Maddie looks ornery, Bubba is blowing bubbles, Daddy looks like...hurry the heck up. Plus we just can't stand being in our church clothes for longer then we have too!!!

Besides when I leave it up to some one else to take the pictures, they are always wrong!!

We had a good Easter. Sad thing is I wasn't really feeling the Easter spirit this time. Church was off for me and Tyler had a bad day in class. It's hard to feel the spirit when your not in tune with the spirit. Years past my heart has always been full with the thought of the Lord's sacrifice. I feel terribly guilty for not separating myself from the rush of the day or stress. I publicly apologise for not spreading the cheer. I am very grateful for what the Lord has done for me and what he continues to do for me. I am one lucky girl, that's for sure. I will try and remind myself daily to step back and list the things that I am grateful for and not take them for granted.

I hope all of you had a wonderful Easter!

smelly eggs

I think this has been the funnest Egg dying activity we have done. I bought a monster egg dying kit, it came with stickers, hair, and pipe cleaners. The kids and Tami and I really got creative. We sure did laugh a ton!Here are some of our creations. Scary fish eggMy pink bling egg. We had a great time, The glue gun helped a lot in this project, but we won't be making egg sandwiches with them, sorry.

Easter Bunny Visit 2011

Answer~Because after several attempts with Tyler freaking out, we had to move Mr. Hop to the side so Tyler could still be uncomfortably close with out screaming, waling, and crying even more. ( I still wish I would of kept the first picture with him flung over, his shirt up, and arms in the air screaming my name )

Luckily it didn't cost an arm and a leg for this picture.

Neighborhood Egg Hunt

This wasn't even all of them, more showed up after I took this picture. The kids were in heaven until we told them that they could only have 12 each. hahaha!

There were several that met at the park close to the house. Besides it being cold it was a lot of fun and the company was nice. We picnicked, gabbed and chased kids.

The Easter Bunny was frugal this year and opted to fill one big Basket, luckily we had one from the Barkers! It was a success. The Bunny came while we were at Church, Smart Bunny!

Get~Ready~Get~Set~GO!!Paiton scored the most, she was smart she was over to one side hunting and the other 3 were on the other side. Dumb kids!

We should of waited to hunt eggs until after dinner, even though I said only one or two pieces each they some how were all too full to eat their dinner. Tyler even thru up all over the floor and almost got his Dad! mmm, chocolate intoxication!

long time no see

Shauna and I are a month a part, I am the older and wiser one :) I haven't been able to see my cousin since my Gramp's funeral two years ago, that's sad. The time before that was when I was barely pregnant with Tyler. Man time flies! I used to spend one or two weekends a summer with Shauna in Ephraim. She still lives back that way, So I loaded my Grahm's and my Momma and we met her for lunch in Springville. It was a way too short of a visit. It was a good lunch and good company. I hope next time we can visit longer. I have missed her and barely even got to catch up!

Jungle Jims w/ Twins

This pic is clearly my favorite of the evening!! She is such a ham!!

I keep the "TWINS" on Monday afternoon. I call them the twins because Jack and Abigail are about 8 months apart. I just love them! We decided to load them up along with my three kids and head out for family fun night for dinner at chuck-a-rama and then to Jungle Jim's. During dinner Jason kept shaking his head at me with the look of "five kids, you must be out of your mind!" I just soaked it all in. It was funny looking at each other across the table while Abby smeared her potatoes all over the table and jack bounced on the booths bench, Tyler singing, Maddie and Bubba eating. I loved it!

We met up with Larkyn after dinner and man the two of us laughed at the little kids. At first they weren't too sure what to think of the rides especially Maddi and Bubba helping them on and off the rides but by the end of the night it was a fight to get them off.

My two oldest are getting a little too big but they are good sports about helping the littler ones.
We had a great time, we usually do on Family nights!! I love my family!!

it's the luck of the Irish

My Mom and I put together these cute little clover's together using the yogurt covered pretzels and melted some White almond bark, put a dab on the wax paper to act as glue then drizzled some over the pretzels using a sandwich bag then sprinkled the green sprinkles while the bark was still wet. They turn out super cute and tasty. We then passed them out to friends and the ladies we visit teach.

With the help of one of my Besties I was able to create a tie and a skirt, yes this is about all I can make. But the kids were so excited and they looked rather sharp! They received a lot of compliments and luckily didn't get pinched!

Principle's Pride

Bubba was given the Principle's Pride award a couple of weeks ago. His teacher recognized him for his "deep reasoning in scientific inquiry", what ever that means ?? either way it was super duper special to surprise him and join him for lunch and clap and shout for him when he went up. I am so proud of him!

Little Puck

This is our friends Brooke & Bert's boy Josh, we'd been trying to talk him in to a Mohawk for a couple of weeks, so his parents pulled their bribing money together and brought him over so Jason could give him one. We call him little Puck ( off of Glee ) but when he wears his Tap Out shirt he looks more like little chuck Lidell.

We've never really been too big on celebrating Valentine's day. I mean it's just another day to spend way too much money. Boy how society has put a price tag on every holiday. Don't get me wrong, who doesn't love getting a little something? I was actually very surprised that my Husband went out and got me something. I was having a bit of a rough day and when I came down and saw these on the counter, I felt so over whelmed. I felt so loved. I couldn't remember the last time I received flowers from Jason? I have always told him to just give me cash!

What is even more awesome is he was on crutches from breaking his leg and walked in to two different places for me. Them struggling getting it in to the house. (Along with the flowers I received a gift card for a massage. )

I do want to strangle my husband most of the time but he does do a lot for me and puts up with a lot. I sure do love him!!
I am so lucky to have him, I hope he knows that not just on Valentines day!

Jason is so calm, cool and collective when it comes to his fights. He's not nervous, he thinks clearly. Most fighters don't have this attitude before going in to a fight. Jason has told me that there will be guys in the back throwing up and have nervous sweats. How ever is is super anxious two -three days before his fights....mostly to "get it on", he gets pumped and what helps motivate him even more is hearing all of us cheer for him. We had 40+ people there cheering for him. It is a great feeling. I have such gratitude for his fans!

I have told Jason that I would really like to see one of his fights go past the first round, only because we pay good money to come and watch him. He wanted to knock this guy out but when his opponent open himself up Jason couldn't help but take him down. Jason won in the first round again by rear naked choke. He did give the guy a pounding in his face for a little bit. It was a tense fight, I was worried that Jason was going to get knocked out, his opponent has broad shoulders and is known to knock people out, he did knock Jason down but Jason got back up again. It was a great fight and a great night out with friends and family. Of course the after party was at Denny's.

I am so proud of Jason, He really works so hard and is so passionate about this sport. I really hope he goes all the way with it. I will push as much as I can. Thanks again to every one that shows their love and support. We love you!

* our first big injury with this fight, he broke his leg and wasn't given the proper diagnosis with the insta care Doctor and wouldn't listen to me to get a second opinion...he waited three weeks later when his friend told him to go in, so the poor guy was walking around and training with a broken leg!! Duh!! He was bummed, He was told to stay off of it for another 4-6 weeks. This means he can't be on the fight card for two different venues this month...but come the end of May...here we go again!!

a very Barker Christmas

The Barker's as usual go way out of their way..or I should say..go all out. They are great!! we had a B/S Christmas get together and exchanged gifts. The ones we passed out were not as awesome as the ones we got. They are just too good to us and that Andrea sure is creative!

I have to mention the Answer clock, I had one when I was little and some where between our moves as kids it was lost, I had mentioned this months before and Andrea with her great ears found one for me..all vintage, still in the box! I about cried!! Crazy how just the little things mean so much and the memories that flood in. ( Sorry again Andrea for deleting the pics that showed my initial surprise, but there are enough pictures with my double chin on here! )

I sure love this family!! I don't know what I would do with out them. It took almost two years to actually speak to each other even though we lived behind each other for five years. I sure miss them as neighbors but I don't go a day with out talking to them. They are some of my besties! I hope they know how important they are to me!!

Just look at these knuckle heads!!! This is one of my favorit-EST pictures ever!!! I am glad that we all get along...for the most part and enjoy being with each other!!!

We love going to Temple Square especially around Christmas time, I mean who doesn't!!?

The kids were in awe getting to walk right up to the temple and touch it. They loved looking at the door knobs. They can't wait to be 12 and get to go inside, I told them that's if only they are good kids. I can't wait to be able to go inside with them.

After we walked around under the lights ( the pink ones are my favorite ) we took the kids for a carriage ride. Of course Tyler fell asleep. We love waiving to all the people passing by but we do not like when we get a horse that farts or poops while we are on our ride. I know some of my friends are saying, but you fart all the time!! Okay, but I am not a smelly horse!!

By the time we are on are way to Christmas Utah, we have to bribe the boys with mt. dew to stay awake...still every year it never works!!

These are the only two pictures I got of Thanksgiving..What the heck!!! I guess I was too busy stuffing my face and sleeping to bother. It was a quick little get away and this year we invited the Barkers down to the Nut House with us! After going back and forth with the eating discussion we decided to eat in and save the money..wait, was it really saving? Maybe..compared to eating at our normal place...Chuck-A-Rama.

All in all, we had a good time. Nice weather, lounging and great company! I have so much to be thankful for!!

You often hear about how computers crash and all of the pictures are lost and they either are lost forever or you pay a ton of money to try and retrieve it off the computer. I still have a computer that has several pictures of Maddie and little J on it. So sad. I never expected to stumble on my plastic tote left outside from the transition from the garage to shed. Me not over seeing this transition..I guess never really was a transition. The tote had been left out and the lid that should of been so securely attached was bumped just enough to allow to the tote to fill full of the rain water that had accumulated over a couple of months. I spent what seemed to be forever, laying out all the photos. I had high school dance pictures, the ones that came in the black sleeves completely ruined, the water made the black paper act like a stain and blackened out the entire photos or nearly all of the photos. I had a ton of scrap booking papers ruined. The list goes on and on. I was able to salvage most of the pictures. I guess your never safe on where you store your photos..unless you put them in a fire proof safe. Lesson learned!!

Halloween 2010

We had our usual little group of friends join us for trick or treating. We also met up with some others. Didn't stay out to long. It was too cold, wet and windy. Oh, the boys! We are a Superman Family. Have been for years. I couldn't talk Bubba in to anything else and once Tyler saw it he had to be Superman also. too bad I couldn't get Big J in to a pair of tights and cape!! This will be the 3rd year..not in a row, that Bubba has been Superman. Good thing I bought the costume big so he could wear it again next year.Money well spent, they were both happy and that's all that matters any way. ( thanks to Andrea for letting us borrow the smaller version for Ty )Tyler is funnier with each passing year. He is also getting to be picky and has his own opinion, this is why he is Superman as well. Little copy catter!! My dear sweet Paiton. She went from actually looking like a beautiful, perfect Cinderella to a dead one. Her Mother, Nana and I all begged her to stay alive but she insisted on being a dead one. So her Mother took the scissors and black spray paint and destroyed the dress, money well spent. At least she was happy. That's all that matters any way.

Maddie was a she devil. The whole purchase was based on the outfit lighting up. Do you think that we remembered this the night of Halloween? NO! Again money well spent. At least she was cute, that's all that matters any way.Another great Halloween. Another bunch of money spent. Great company. Giggling, sugared out kids. Atleast we were happy, that's all that matters any way.

Another exciting evening!! Jason won in the first round...AGAIN!! I finally told him that he needs to maybe take it to the second round? What can you do when the opponent makes the wrong move and Jason has to take him? This fight wasn't much of a challenge but Jason always goes in expecting the worse. He also doesn't use a game plan, he just prepares himself for every angle that the fight might go in. The fight is posted on my FB page ( haven't figured out how to put it on here? )

It continues to amaze me on how calm he is before his fights. It's okay I guess, I have enough nerves for the both of us.

I am truly grateful for all of our friends and family that come to support Jason and even the ones that don't come. We both feel very blessed to have such great people in our lives.

Halloween fashion show

Bubba's class had a Halloween costume fashion show. Bubba's teacher had them come out one at a time and twirled them around in front of us parents. It was cute. I love how they all come out kind of shy but it has helped build their confidence.

We love visiting Engh Gardens around Halloween time. It's decorated all fun like. They have an awesome assortment of pumpkins and decorations. It's starting to become a family tradition. If any of you have any fun pumpkin patches you just have to visit every year let me know. Halloween is the South's favorite Holiday and we go around visit other places. Especially if it's free!!

We took my Grahms to dinner for her Birthday. I can't believe that she is 85 years old. She still has her mind, wits, humor and nagging capabilities. I love that she is still going strong and I look up to what she has accomplished in her life time. I know that I will be able to post again in another 10 years for her birthday because she'll still be here doing genealogy, knitting, quilting, face booking and baking. I love you Grahms.

For our 11 year anniversary I kind of went all out ( well, wait if I had gone all out I would have a new body and spent my anniversary on the beach in Hawaii!! ) I booked us two days at Daniels Summit Lodge up near Heber. I also rented a golf cart on steroids and we did over 20 miles worth of trails just on the back side of the lodge. It was such a fun and relaxing get away. We had a large jetted tub in our room and a king size bed. We were worried a couple times that the power would go out and we would be stuck taking to each other...hmm what would we talk about!!? Luckily it didn't and we just vegged when we weren't out dining.

I am so thankful that I have this Man in my life. He is my best friend. I really don't know what I would do with out him. We have come along way in our relationship with one another and we do fall in love more and more with each other with each passing year. Besides he knows that I would kill him if he ever tried to leave me ;)

We truly do have a unique relationship. Who can you say besides my own parents could work with each other for 10 years and live with each other and still survive? I don't know really any body that could say that. I am really glad I can. He puts up with so much from me ( not as much as I put up with from him ) that I know that he could leave any moment but he doesn't. I love him.....he completes me.

dinner in the Uintas

Wow, we actually made it to the Uinta's this year. The complaint is that we were only there for 5 hours, didn't even get to stay over night...wah!!!

Jason's parents went up for a few days and we decided to surprise them with a little visit Monday evening. We had some dinner and walked down to Washington lake, took some snapshots ( more like goofing around ), skipped some rocks, got mud in our shoes, walked back to camp, light a fire, roasted marsh mellows and sang primary songs by fire light. It was a great evening.
It did take three washes to get the smoke smell out of my hair but it was totally worth it!!

Maybe next year we will actually get to stay a night or two?

I have video of the fight but of course..I can't get it to upload. It didn't last too long again. He won in the first round. He held the guys neck choking him for over a minute before he would tap out. It was awesome to see him win again and what was more awesome is that their were over 45 friends and family there to help cheer him on.

The original guy that was supposed to fight him backed out three days before the fight...said he broke his nose during training, I kind of think it's because he knew he would loose. The guy was an on and off again guy. Changed his mind three times prior to finally backing out. It was great that another guy stepped up to the plate so Jason could still fight. All that hard work with training paid off.

Zoo Tradition

The South Family has the tradition of meeting up at the Zoo every 24th of July ( yes, I am really that far behind on Blogging ). It's always way too hot but it's the only time we go for the whole year and we have a good time. Tradition is special to us. I always look back on things that we always kept tradition on my side of the family and I hope my kids keep the things we do tradition when they are older.

I am glad that the zoo didn't keep us there...We are a bunch of animals...party animals!!

I don't know how many times I have said it and I don't know how many more times I will say it but I love Face book!! I have been able to re-connect with so many friends! I have been able to see pictures of their children, who they married and where life has taken them...besides the fact that I totally feel popular, it's just amazing to me. I was feeling lost, not really had people I could talk to. Don't get me wrong I have some wonderful ladies in my ward and have grown quiet close to a few of them, but there is always something new and refreshing re-kindling friendships and have an even bigger support group. This has also led to blog stocking. It just feels like I haven't missed out on a thing!!

It was so nice to catch up with these ladies. I think it's been 15 years since I last saw any of them. They are all still so beautiful and their children are little cuties ( oh, and their men, aren't too shabby either ).

Thanks Devon for inviting me to your little get together. It meant so much to me, more then you'll ever know!!
I can't wait until we get together again..until then...I'll be seeing you!!

Jason won his third fight against this girly looking man. ( He's girly because of his long eyelashes and modeling career!! ) It was great and it was over fast. I still love watching Jason do what he loves to do. I am glad that he has something to take his aggression out on. Poor opponents :) He won in the first round by grabbing hold of the guy and wrapping him self around him pulling him to the ground and choking him out. I would of rather seen him break the guys nose but hey that's okay!!

Thanks to all of our friends and family that came to support him again. I love that all of us get together and cheer him on. I know it motivates him!!

A~T~A trip!!

The three of us like to plan a little get away once or twice a year. Our plan this trip was to stay at the nutt house one night and then splurge and stay one night in Las Vegas. Well it didn't go quiet the way we planned. When we arrived at the nutthouse we stumbled upon a flood. It seems that the hose on the back of the fridge split and water had been spraying out that hose for almost a month. So we ended up staying at Aspen's house the one night and then doing a double night splurge in Vegas. Over all, the trip was a success. We walked, and walked, and walked in Vegas, caught a movie, went shopping of course and had some yummy desert. The casino we stayed in was really nice. I am glad that we got away. These two gals of mine are great!!

I already can't wait for our next trip...In January, I think :)

Twilight girls

Yes, we are part of those crazies that need to go out and watch all of the Twilight movies. And yes, we have our little girls involved in all the whoop-la. We scored tickets to a special preview to eclipse from My Allstate agent ( who is the best by the way!! )and were able to take my niece Paiton and Maddie along with My Sister in Law Larkyn, My Momma and Sister. It was a great afternoon out.
I think it's funny that all the women get freaked out. I love to people watch and I love that my girls get all giggly!!
Can't wait for the next one!!!

My Grahms waited a good 60 years to be sealed to my Grandpa and their Children. Unfortunately it couldn't take place until my Gramps was deceased. I also have and Aunt and Uncle that are deceased as well and all of us gathered except one to take part in this special day. I was able to stand in for my Aunt and I two cousins join in on being a stand in for my Gramps and Uncle. I could barley control my emotions. I cried most of the morning. The spirit was so strong in the Temple and it truly was amazing to be a part of it. I knew that my Gramps, Aunt Catherine and Uncle John...and my Dad were all there as witnesses in this special occasion. I know no one on the other side opposed to what we were doing. The Heaven's were definitely celebrating along with us.

I am truly thankful for the Plan of Salvation and all that the Lord and Savior has done for me and my Family. I can testify that Families are Forever!!

My Bubba turned a year older. We made a whole weekend out of it. We spent the one morning at Chuck E Cheese ( do you think that his mom could get one picture of his friends an family that joined us..NO!! our besties the Barker Family, Paiton, and Aspen's girls..oh and his Nana) had a fun stuffin time! The next day we went to church and after we had his Grand parents, Aunt and Uncle from my side over for cake and ice cream.

Wow I have been 32 for a whole month!! It really is no big deal, just another day.

Jason took the motorcycle out of storage and we did a time warp back to when we we're dating, back to 18 again....Went to dinner, a dollar movie and ice cream. Stayed out past curfew, after 1 AM. We had a great time as usual.

I had several other's make me feel special. Thanks to all of my family and friends that made it great! ( my favorite part, is always what the kids do for me. It's fun seeing what they pick out. They love making a big deal out of it and that makes me even happier! )

Was it that long ago skipping to school with a lunch box, pig tails in my hair. Where did the time go one minute out playing in the sand box to how did I get here from there? Making lunches and folding clothes, it's not the most glamorous life I know but I've got so much more then most.

I'm not famous but my kids think I'm a star. I'm not rich but I've made a million memories so far. I may not be a model but my man thinks I could be. No I may not be from royalty but in these for walls I'm the Queen.

I had it all planned. First I'd make it big in Nashville then take Hollywood by storm. But it was in God's hands cause there we're three little lives that would need me to one day be their Mom. I wouldn't trade it for anything, those movie stars don't have everything and I know I'm right where I want to be. I had to let it go but I have no regrets. Cause I would have never known this kind of happiness.

For the past couple years I have been showing her my support by walking with her and the rest of our family in the Cancer walk. It is so amazing to me all the people that come out to support those living and, sadly those who have passed on.

Gym Jones

Jason has a very vigorous work out routine. Gym Jones is just one of the gyms that he trains at. I think the trainers at this location are the most hard on him. You have to have a lot of heart to even be able to go and participate. They train Olympic athletes, movie stars and some of Jason's other Jiu Jitzu friends in his class. The torture that he puts himself thru is just mind blowing. He is training to be the BEST!! He has such a strong passion for MMA. I know he can take this talent and go all the way with it. Who says dusting off a brand new set of golf clubs that you received three years ago is not a long wait? Well I wouldn't say that...not at all. Roy picked out a nice little golf course in St. George for the two of them to golf at while Andrea and I did lady things, which was supposed to include a pedicure but didn't because the place is no longer there. Sad :( Other then that we had a great little time doing other things while waiting for them to get done. Like getting pulled over 2 minutes after dropping them off. That was the start and then no pedicure then not having enough lady time. O'well the weather was nice...not nice enough for capri's though. Those stayed

neatly folded in our suitcases. After we picked the Men up we treated ourselves to Texas Road House and a movie.

Oh, Vegas . I have definitely had enough of you I think...Okay maybe not. The last three times going to Vegas we have attempted to see the dolphins and white tigers. The others gave in to my demands and we went and saw it. Not really what I was expecting. The dolphins didn't do any tricks and the tigers and lions were lazy!! Been there done that. I have checked it off the list and don't ever need to go again.

After taking a cab back from the Mirage ( there was no way I walking 5 miles back! Okay, maybe it wasn't that far but still ) We sat out side the M&M store to do some people watching. The batteries in my camera died and Andrea's were slowly fading as well or I am sure she would have alot more pictures. I know our laughter was at other peoples expense. We should have a site called people of Vegas..just like they have one for people of walmart!

We had a great time. We usually do with the Barker's. I am glad that we were able to go. Can't wait to get away with them again!!

Pan Ams

I am little behind on posting this. This took place about a month ago.

Don't ask me what Pan Ams stands for. All I know is that it's another Jui Jitsu tournament. It took place in California. Yes, another one that I didn't get to attend but supported from home :)

Jason took Bronze in his division. He signed up for two different competitions. In the first he was disqualified for an illegal move which he wasn't aware was illegal. Different competitions have different rules, sometimes hard to keep them all straight. The second was the open division. This is where you go up against men different weights and sizes but have the same color of belt. The man that won gold looks like he has about a foot in height difference and about 50 lbs more in weight...so not fair!!

Even though Jason was disappointed in himself, I am not. He works his butt off. He is the BEST in my book and I am in no way saying that because he's my man...okay, maybe a little!!

I am so proud of him. He loves doing this and I love watching him...no matter if it's from home or front row. I love you babe! Good job!!

Moab trip

ahhh..Moab. It had been along time. Our friends Duane and FreLynn purchased a jeep just in time for our trip. ( we had planned it several weeks in advance with the intentions of only doing hikes. Thanks to the purchase of this jeep we didn't have to do any...well except for all the walking that FreLynn and I did from being too scared on some of the hills and rocks on the trails ).

We stayed in a little "tent only" campground. It was quaint. There was a nice bathroom with showers and yes...electricity for my flat iron ( can't leave home without it!! ) It was nice and cozy, just Jason and I in our little tent :)

Our first trail was "Poison Spider" I have been on this trail before. I don't remember it being so bumpy. My seat belt sure kept me in tightly, maybe a little too tightly. At one point I took it off due to the fact that I was losing air and honestly I would love a flat bell but not that way! Of course as soon as I took it off we went over a nice boulder as you would call it and I hit my head on the bar above me. Lots of bumps!!

We couldn't of asked for better weather. I put on plenty of sun block except for one little tiny spot above my knee. Nice and red!

The pictures below~ This is when I wish I had one of those super dooper fancy cameras so I could zoom in. FreLynn and I stayed back at the lookout while these two, who by the way have no fear of anything walked over and on to this arch. These pictures don't justify the height. If you look closely you can see a parking lot threw the center. The drop off on the other side was probably a good 300 feet..straight to death, but hey who needs to worry about that when you have balls of steel?After our first trail I was feeling like I was getting too much sun so we stopped off at the local True Value store for some hat shopping. The guys are such great models.

Don't you just love the granny hat that I chose!!? ( don't mind the HUGE zit on my face!! )

The second trail we took was called "Hell's Revenge" and boy did it feel like I was going straight there. It was mostly slick rock but lot's of steep hills up and down. We told the boys that they should of warned us but all they said before is "Oh you'll love it!" YA RIGHT!! This is where we did most of our walking. I felt the burn in more ways then one!
It did take us to this beautiful look out. It was nice to sit for a while to rest. Considering we were going to have to start walking again.

We ended the day with awesome Mexican food and a hot shower!!

It was a short little get away. I don't get too many too often with my Man.

On our way home we went to Dead Horse Point. It's another wonderful State Park here in beautiful Utah. The view was amazing and again my camera just doesn't justify the beauty that I saw with my own eyes. If you ever have the chance to go it is awesome!

I can't wait to go again..although it will have to wait until September I think. It will be too hot to go so soon. Next time we are going to take the kids and maybe do the hikes :)

Easter

Sure enough when we arrived back home from being out to lunch the Easter Bunny left buckets of new clothes, shoes and candy. There were also eggs scattered thru out the family room ( I sure was glad that he opted not to hide the eggs in the snow or mud that had piled up in the back yard ) Oh, and that darn Easter Bunny helped himself to the cookies that I was saving for Nana.
The best part is Daddy setting up the camera in a place we didn't notice and got the kids reactions on tape but no luck in catching the Easter Bunny on tape making messes and stealing cookies!!

So we joined the Barker kids for an EXTRA early lunch at Carls Jr. The kids got a lot of wiggles and giggles out and as usual had a good ol' time. We stuffed our faces with chicken and some cupcakes that Andrea made..yum! Then off to home we went to see if he came.

There is always way too much giggling while in the bath tub and I can tell what they have been up with out even peeking in the bath room. The jets in the tub produce massive amounts of bubbles especially when a two year old has gotten a hold of a brand new bottle of shampoo and dumped it in the water. The bath tub we have can fit two adults and is nice and deep. The bubbles this evening were almost over the kids heads. I am now banning the jet button and hiding the soap and shampoo.
Oh, I almost split my pants from slipping on the wet floor. I don't know what they laughed at more..me or the bubbles?

So this is really an embarrassing picture of me..Why am I sharing it then? Well this is the way I have been feeling lately..Shock, stress, the look of pain etc.!! My apologies if any of you have felt my wrath. I am usually the life of the party..Lately there is no party!!

I have been feeling a lot of pressure lately. Whether it's being a good Mother or the heart ache of running a struggling business and not being a very good friend to My husband, Mom, Siblings and other Family and Friends. I just haven't had it in me lately. I really need to give myself props though. I do it all!! The only thing that I don't do is make enough time for myself. I need a major time out.

I work a full time job...not just any job but run a business with my Mom and Jason and even though the work load is no where near what it used to be I feel the stress of it even more. I can handle the stress from... how am I going to get all of this done? as opposed to the stress of losing loads or not having enough work, to not having money come in and the rise of the cost in fuel. My parents started this business nearly 25 years ago and Jason and I have been here with my Mom 10 years and in no way do I want to be doing this for ten more!!

I am a full time mom...and the stress that I have is no way easy on my kids. They truly are my little treasures and I am so grateful for them. They are so understanding..well most of the time. I know it's hard on them. I remember my childhood and my parents going thru the same things that we are going thru now. I tell my kids the same thing that I was told growing up. This is just the way it is. That's why it's so important to work hard at everything you do.

I am so grateful for great Family and friends. Especially the ones that send me emails or texts to see how I am doing and let me know that they are thinking of me. I know that I don't get away as often as I should with them but just knowing and talking shortly makes me feel quiet popular. It also helps keep my spirits up.

In no way am I looking for a pity party. I just know that I am doing the best job I can and that's all I can do. That's why I needed to spotlight myself! But I wouldn't be as awesome as I am with out the love and support that my family and friends give or the guidance of my Heavenly Father.

We have discovered my brothers X-box and the game guitar hero. We had the Barker kids and Paiton over a few nights back and they decided to rock out the whole evening. They did so well playing. I enjoyed listening to them laugh and take turns singing. It proved to me that they can read really well. I loved it. So now it's convincing them to not play nightly. I have to tell them that the bar is closed!!
I am sure that my Brother could stomp any of you out there that can play. He obviously plays to much because he is an expert!!

Date Night

Excited from all the tickets that Andrea scored for the boys ( dumb prizes )My Bubba doesn't get too much attention. He is the sweetest little man. His hugs and kisses are the best! I told him next time we go out he is paying!!

We try real hard to do do one on one with our kids and after pondering about it..sadly I hadn't ever taken my Bubba out. I am going to try alot harder to make this happen more often. He is a fun date! Thanks for sharing the evening with us Andrea and Wyatt!!

Maddie's new do

I was completely against Maddie getting her hair cut, short for that matter. I said "to your shoulders and that's it!!" but after much begging, pleading, kisses and hugs she got her way. It didn't take long to convince her Daddy but me I just didn't want her too! Mine and Maddie's hair takes forever to grow!! She's young and it will grow back!! It just may take a few years!! Thanks to her friends Rachel, Kaitlyn and Hailey for being around so much she just had to have the same hair do!!

I wasn't allowed to enter or see until it was all done..including the dry and style. I couldn't believe how grown up she looked. It turned out so cute. Tami did an amazing job. I just don't trust any one else with our hair. Thanks Tami for the last minute fitting her in. oh, and thanks for making her look older because now I feel older!!

She has received so many compliments too!!

Just a little project

Have I mentioned that Jason is talented? I don't think that there's anything he can't do and if at first he can't do it, he will surely figure it out. He is successful at everything he does..Me being the best of his accomplishments!! :)

He started a little project staining our cabinet doors in the kitchen. They have gone form drab to fab!! They look like they are custom made and all fancy but it's just a couple of different stains and a couple of different techniques with a brush, a sponge and rag. It has made the kitchen look alot less yellowy!! Now it's just a matter of him getting them all done so the top half of the kitchen matches the bottom half.

Another adventure that Jason will be starting is a touch up & furniture repair business. He has had this talent for the last ten years and has even been hired out exclusively from designers and other moving companies. It just looks like we will be breaking a few things for him to fix..because I haven't taken any before and after pictures of any of the work he's done over the years!! DUH!!

If any of you know of some one or are in need of any touch up. He specializes in wood, porcelain, granite, ceramic, marble, and he's perfecting his skills in leather. He does amazing work!!

Christmas 2009

It took me several days, almost right up to Christmas to even be in the mood. I don't think I was allowing myself to feel the Christmas spirit. I was too absorbed in the rude people that called in and shoved their Christmas priorities down my throat! What gave them the right to think that their Christmas was more important then mine? Then I would often reflect back on the years when my Dad was around and how bad he hated Christmas, but even in his scrooge mood he always did his best. It is now why I understand the stress of it all..How was he going to do Christmas for his kids when his clients wouldn't pay so he could afford it? This year I was feeling the same pressure. I know that's not what it's about and I tried very hard to let my kids know that presents are what it's about. It's about our Savior. I had even sat them down after I heard a song sang by one of those girly boys on the Disney Channel on how we should thank Santa for all that he does for us..ARE YOU SERIOUS!! It really upset me. Although it is important to be giving and spread holiday cheer. As I pondered and relaxed a little bit over the things that were getting to me and analyzed my behavior towards my Family and Friends. I know what to be grateful for...but did I mean it? Did I feel it? The Savior has blessed me in so many ways. Even though I feel that my little world is crashing down all around me. I have the foundation of my Family to keep me stable. The love that the Lord and they show for me is the center of my home. Your home is where your Family is.
On a lighter note. We had a fabulous Christmas!! We were all together, the kids were great, I didn't mind the mess, We ate way too much, and shared lot's of laughs!
Every year it's in my nature to do a couple of practical jokes on Jason. The first thing I did was got him some cliff bars that we can never find any where..they were more for me!! Second, and the best that I have done so far is got him a UFC action figure..but wonderful part was Andrea took time out of everything she had going on and printed pictures of Jason from off my blog and put them all over the box so it looked like it was a Jason action figure. We laughed so hard. The detailing was great. All the little heads, she covered up the words with his fighting name "The Mover" and even had a tiny picture of him in the cage from his last fight on there. Oh it was magical!! I will never be able to top this one!!

I feel bad, I am just realizing there are no pictures of Maddie on Christmas day. She must of been off with her sewing stuff?

Bubba for two years bugged me about a champion belt..and when I found a UFC one I freaked out! This was the gift that actually got me excited about Christmas. I could just see his reaction and hear his "oh, ya! " when I saw it. Best $12.00 gift!!

We spongified Tyler for Christmas. He got Jammie's, hoodie, movie, hat, blanket and pillow all in Sponge Bob. He loves his sponge bob!!

We were all spoiled even on a low budget. It was just having all of us together and being bums what matter the most!!
Thanks to all of my Family and Friends that stuck by me through my rough time. It is getting easier to deal with and I appreciate all that you do for me to support me. I love all of you. Thanks for a always showing me your testimony and being there for me and my little ones. I could not have survived through this season without you.

I will try not to be so ornery!!

Christmas Eve 2009

Christmas Eve was spent with Family of course!! The first part of the evening we joined some of the other South's at Village in for dinner..It was yummy, really it was :) and then we took a bunch of goofy pictures of all of us. I think Jason was out to ruin every one I took..One of his many talents! At first I didn't want to go any where or do anything because I knew I had a long night ahead of me but I am really glad we ventured out. We had a good time.

The second part of the evening I had my side over for Christmas Eve tradition, Jammie's and goodies. Stayed up way too late of course..well Tami and I did!

You can almost guarantee that both Jason's will be asleep before any one else even in all the commotion!!

Turkey in Vegas

We normally spend Thanksgiving in St. George at CHUCK~A~RAMA...yes, we are those type of people..the ones who like to have some one else cook it and clean it up :) we've been doing this since I was a Jr. in High school!! This time we spent it in Vegas, the whole day! We started off at the Hoover Dam. We didn't get out just drove by, then flipped around and drove back thru again. We are always marveled at the sight of the dam and the bridge that has been under construction for the last couple of years.

We headed over to our favorite buffet...At the Orleans. It was yummy as usual. Stuffed ourselves silly and then was on our way to try and see some highlights of Vegas. ( we do always make thanksgiving dinner the next day. I couldn't go the whole weekend without turkey sandwiches!! )

We just had to get our picture taken with the Sponge Bob statue at the Excalibur.

Then off to the M&M Store so the kids could pick out a prize. They were so excited to see where it is that I always get their prize from in Vegas. It is just tradition to stop at the M&M store.

Then started all the walking..We tried to go see the dolphins and we missed that by a half hour so then we walked over to Treasure Island just to see that the show was down until February...so basically the kids got to see the lions at the MGM and the water show at the Mirage. After we got back home my Sister calculated that we walked over 5 miles. I refused to get a taxi..no way was I paying all that money, besides we needed to walk off all the grub from the buffet. We had a great time. It was nice to have my family together for the weekend.

So these last pictures really deserve their own post...but I will include it here..What started it was me, I had noticed this couple, nicely dressed. The lady was even dressed in a long fur coat and here they were handing off their camera to one of their friends to take a picture of them..little did they know that they had this "hot babes" sign in the back ground. I wish I could of been there to see the looks on their faces when they looked at their developed pictures to see the practically naked women in the background. Ahh, good times!!

Get your guns!!

First things first....I am a gun owner. I don't leave home with out one. I was raised with them around and knew how to handle one at a young age ( even won over the young women and the adult women at girls camp one year for target shooting...ah, thank you!! ). We consider the riffles and hand guns that we have part of our food storage. Now secondly. Jason and I have taught our children that if they were to see some one with a gun especially a young child to stop and tell an adult. When ever we take them shooting we teach them a few lessons. One we always fill up a large water bottle with liquid and Jason aims and shoots. ( I caught this at the perfect moment...ah, thank you!! ) Thus resulting in the explosion of liquid going every where. We tell them that this could be their guts!! Guns are not toys and never EVER do we touch or handle one with out permission and an adult around!!

The other lessons are is to never point a gun at any one, always hold it up in the air. Never put your finger on the trigger until you are ready to aim and fire at your target. Do not cross in front of some one when they have a gun in their hand, and especially do not walk in front of the aiming line.

We have so much fun when we go target practicing. The kids in the past have only ever gotten to shoot a couple of bullets. This time was a much better experience for them. They shot my .22 riffle the most..it doesn't kick like some of the others. With the scope I have on it they were able to hit most of the bottles and cans that they were aiming at. Good times.

I think it is important to teach children gun safety. I was reading an article a few weeks back of a twelve year old who was home sick from school and shortly after her Dad left for work two Prison escapees broke in to the home and little did they know she knew how to handle a shot gun and held a state champion record in target shooting in her age group, she aimed and shot them before they could do any harm to her. Later when the Police arrived the one man had a gun on him and the other had a knife. Can you imagine what would of happened to the girl if she didn't have the knowledge of guns!!?

I am Two now!! If I would of held out for two more weeks like I was supposed to I wouldn't be two until the 21st but I decided I needed to start torturing my Family as early as possible..no sense in waiting.I am so smart. I am counting to ten on my own, I sing almost all the words to my favorite songs. My most favorite one at the moment is "you get the best of both worlds" by Hannah Montana. My Mommy has even made me my own mix on her i-pod so when we get in the car I can rock out to it along with the other songs I love. I am still working on the potty training..it's rough to try and remember when I am playing or getting in to something I am not supposed to.

Man how time fly's when your having fun!! Can't wait until I am 3..since I already act like I need to be a big kid like my Brother and Sister. I had a great birthday. I had a Sponge Bob cupcake. Got a Handy Many book with tools and a very load obnoxious play guitar. I am lovin' life. I know my Family love's me...I love them more!!

Maddie's Baptism

December 5th was an extra special day for the South Family. Maddie was Baptized and Confirmed a member of the True Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints by her Daddy in front of several Family and Friends. It did take three times to get it right but what a great blessing it is to have been able to see Jason Baptize his only Daughter. We are so proud of her and her decision to be baptized. We feel so blessed to have her in our lives. We also feel blessed that we have so many that support her. I am so thankful that I have a man that holds the Priesthood.

The South's shared this special day with our Cousin & Nephew Jack, He was finally Sealed to his Mommy and Daddy Jeremy & Larkyn. We are thrilled to know that it is official!!

The day was truly full of the Spirit. I am so glad that we were all there for each other today. Family is really what it's all about.

Madison's dress was a Barker Original..Thanks Andrea for making her look even more beautiful on her special day..hope we are still close for you to make her wedding dress some day :)

8 is great!!

After the party was over and we arrived home I pulled out her little Birthday cake. The 4 of us sang Happy Birthday and sealed the night with kisses and hugs.

She was to be born on the 12th of November but I guess Papa just couldn't part with her so she came 8 days later on the 20th just a day before her two uncles Birthday. It took me 2 days to deliver her. She weighed 8lbs 12oz and was 21 1/2" long. She is definitely a special little gift. She is pretty much the only thing that can bring her Daddy to tears or get him to give in.

She has always been full of spunk. She is a complete tom-boy when she wants to be and a princess any other day. She is so in to fashion, make up , dress up, barbies and 4-wheelers. She loves art work, crafts and baking..oh and her new thing is sewing.

Even though she can be a snob at times, lazy and very forgetful. I wouldn't want her any other way. I am so blessed to have her. Happy Birthday Maddie. We love you and are so proud of you.

Twilight Prom 2009

I think I may have been more excited to do the Twilight party then Maddie was. She is the one that chose the theme..so I just took it from there. I kept a lot of what I was doing a secret from her. It was way more fun to surprise her. I reserved a part of the gym at the stake center, decorated it with formal dining and dim lights and had a mix of the Twilight and New Moon soundtracks playing.

I bought plastic champain glasses, we had plastic vampire teeth for the napkin rings, and screwers for their utensils. ( like stakes to stab vampires..but vampires don't die by stakes :) )

We did a chocolate fountain with assorted goodies for them to dip. We had candles on the tables along with balloons. A bowl of red apples. I did a bowl of blood punch ( rasberry ice crystal light )I had all of the posters that I have collected so far and New Moon dinner plates scattered throughout the gym on the walls. The most fabulous part was I set a back drop up with trees, lights and a life size cardboard cut out of EDWARD. When the parents dropped of their girls they giggled just as much as the girls did.

Jason gave in when I wanted to order the Belle and Edward collector Barbies. ( Maddie is actually okay with leaving them in the box to look at.) She received lot's of great things. Spoiled as usual!!

I had the girls pose with Edward so I could give them each a prom picture to take home..although I wasn't able to give them to them by the time they left but I did get them passed out later. Their goodie bags included a big sticker of the New Moon poster, a baggie for a charm bracelet they could assemble, their teeth and all of the suckers they one from Andrea's ring toss game she brought.

Lately Ty just can't get enough of my i-pod or i-phone. Both of which are like my best friends, and he is trying to steal them away from me!! He is so in to the music and sings to almost everything..I hate to admit but he wants me to play hanna tanna over and over again!! I have composed his own "Tyler's party mix" play list on my i-pod so he can listen to HIS favorites. Some of them are sponge bob, bob, the builder, hanna of course and I like to move it move. I also hate to admit that I can almost sing word for word now, well..I have to listen to them over and over. I have no one to blame but myself!

His love for my phone...He has fallen asleep with my phone!!! He likes to play the matching games, bowling, sling shot, watch Tinkerbell, spell words and do shapes. i-phone has so many wonderful little apps for kids. He is sounding out the words and putting words in the right order. He scores over a hundred every time on the bowling game. You really should check out his skills. Again I have no one to blame but myself!!

It's sad...when I want him to listen or be quiet all I have to do is tease him with my phone ( bad Mommy ) Oh, this is why I also should apologize for missing phone calls or if he has dialed any one by mistake.

Purple

Another milestone in Jason's Jui Jitsu career. He achieved his purple belt a couple of Saturday's ago. This is his 3rd year training and he still loves every minute of it. It takes several ( like hundreds etc. ) hours to achieve new belts. In Jason's school... when a student is rewarded a new ranking the teachers pick them up and slam them to the mat. Both the kids and I enjoyed watching him go down. :) Sorry the pictures a little bit fuzzy.

We are so proud of you Jason. We stand by for your next accomplishment!!

World Champion

This past weekend Jason went to Long Beach California to participate in the World Gui Jitzu tournament. This is a huge event, men and women of all ages with different levels of skill ( white belt, blue belt etc. ) from across the world come to compete. Jason competed in the Masters light weight blue belt division. He went against four guys. Then since he won Gold in that division he could compete in the open division, which means different heights and weights compete and he went against 5 guys to take gold in the open division. 2 GOLDS!!!ble to go so when he got home we put in the video ( that's why a couple of the pics are fuzzy, their pictures of what is paused on the video :) ) Some of the matches were pretty intense. They were all 5 minutes matches and it's either by scoring points for certain moves or submission. He pretty much choked all of them out but one. Two he barely won, one with four seconds left and another since he was the more dominate one in the match the judges gave him the win. All the matches he was definitely worthy of winning. He did an awesome job.

These are some of his buddies~ Johny his coach, Paul & Chris all went and did well competing.

There was some confusion of course..there always is. Jason and one of his competitors thought that they both won. Jason had rolled his knee during one of his last matches and since he thought that he was done was icing it for about 15 minutes when they called his name to have his last match. He did very good even though his knee was stiff. He choked the guy out rather quickly!!

This is a huge accomplishment for Jason....I mean c'mon the World Champion!!!

Not only the World Champion but a few months back the National Champion!! I am so very proud of him. I still enjoy watching him and hopefully I will get to go more?

He is planning on getting another fight in January or February of next year..I can't wait!!!

GO JASON!!
